I always take a great interest to replenish my thoughts on social media marketing, whether it may be, Facebook marketing or Twitter marketing, or may be Instagram or MySpace. Social Media Platforms has changed the way we think, we work and the way we share our emotions, happiness and surprises. My Mother always shouts at me early morning because of my relationship with social media sites. Hahaha!!! I know same is the situation with you. It’s amazing to see that how online businesses have evolved as a result of these social media sharing sites.

I always have a close relationship with Facebook because it is the most widely used and renowned social media site and thus, the survey says the same. Heya, to find out why and which social media platform businesses use for their better audience connectivity, I did a survey.

Now let’s get started with Facebook!!!

Today, Internet usage is a pervasive part of our livelihood. It’s hard to believe that how Facebook marketing has changed from the last few years. Yes, I agree with you that still many people think it’s a new concept, but believe me, just for 3 years. It’s a vast new customer place for small and big businesses. I have written an article few months back only on the request of one my fan friend that how can we build reach on Facebook for free. It might help you out!!!

In 2007, definitely MySpace was at the top of all Social media sharing sites. Maybe, possible that Twitter can repeat the same story with Facebook. But as of now, Facebook the king! I won’t tell you about Facebook account setup, page setup, inviting people to your page or sending friend requests, how to share a post, etc… But yes, I will definitely talk about Facebook Analytics. It’s a very important concept to know if you are having a business page on Facebook or thinking to start one.

Facebook is the big thing in marketing as I have told you. But, what’s the use if you can’t judge the impact of your Facebook strategies on customer engagement, hike in page likes and views, ROI, customer satisfaction and of course,  your conversion rates.

Which social media platform do you use???

You might be thinking that 3D (Daily Digital Dose) is back with the latest informative blog post.

Hahaha, the answer is big NO. Today I am not here to share any valuable information, but to gain some valuable insights from you guys.

I am sure you all guys use social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instragram to stay connected to your friends and peers or if you are using it for business, your motto is to stay connected to your target audience for better engagement, for excellent conversion rate and finally for enhancing your brand image.

To find out why and which social media platform businesses use for their better audience connectivity, I ask Google (Sabka baap ek hi hai) the same question I am asking you.

I got various answers and even I got answer of the questions which I didn’t ask. I was getting twisted with every new answer I got from Google. It was like Google is trying to tie me with a big rope.

What you will share when you see the below 5 things on your newsfeed

  • Article which bring you across some most valuable information
  • Social cause message or video or even article
  • Humorous content which make the target audience feel relaxed
  • Offers

Or

  • Sales pitch by a company to sell a product or a service.

I am sure you will share or like all the above things except the sales pitch.

Why,

Hahahah, you already know the answer but you have just overlooked it.

It’s simply because people are mostly interested and likely to share the offers, information or something that provides an enjoyable experience. Share or post articles, videos or images that provides the offer or solution to your target audience. People don’t want to listen to a sales pitch.

I know that you are operating your Facebook page or twitter handle or any other social media platform to generate leads and to increase your conversion rate. The motto is same, only the ways have changed and it has to be changed taking into consideration the continuous changing habits, behavior and preferences of your target audience.

Everybody!! Yes, almost everybody had ignored or is not aware of the math behind one of the most important social media strategy.  Social media marketers are so busy in creating and sharing the posts that they have literally missed this out!!!

The Basic distribution math – The most overlooked one!!!

Let me take you through an example for better understanding.

I am owner and a social media manager of a Small Restaurant. Suppose I have Facebook likes, twitter followers, blog readers and even YouTube subscribers. I have 2000 fans for each. Now, let consider only Facebook for the basic math and the calculation is for a sharable, I mean, an excellent post not for the not so good post.

You posted an article (Suppose)

2000 Facebook fans * 14% average fan viewing of the post = 280 people likely to read your article.

I am sure that you have never thought of this!!! But that’s not the end of the story.

280(Likely to read)* 10% viewers sharing * 150 average friends of viewers* 12% average friend viewing

Let’s calculate the numbers!!!

280* 10% (Viewers sharing) = 28

28 * 150 (Average friends) = 4200

4200 * 12% (Average friend viewing) = 504

Its 504, the size of your viewers is always smaller than the size of your fans.
